Hello my fellow human,
Hope the week has started smoothly for you.
Excited to share some big news that is a long time coming. My first book.
I will be writing five books this year, with the goal of providing you with a deep reference and roadmap for self-directed healing and/or broadening your skillset if you are a practitioner in the field.
The centre of the wheel will be a book on Somatic-based healing, with a strong emphasis on safely bringing about re-integration events, which I am currently writing.
Spokes to that wheel will be the early social origins of disorganised states. How did we get to here in the first place? E.g. Addiction, burnout and investigating our earliest care from our most primal connections with the mother gap and also the topic of the first book…
The Father Gap: On the Sacred Role of Confident Separation
A father’s role after the moment of conception was not just unclear, but up until 500,000 years ago, it was unnecessary. Since then, he has radically contributed towards what we would describe as the highest expression of our humanness. However, the benefits of this attainment have not been genetically locked in, but rather are incentives for his continual presence. There is no fate, only a fragile elevation maintained by the hard work of every next father.
In this book, the reader is encouraged to explore what happens when this sacred role is not met, how it is exported to the body of the child and what that body predictably does to try to save us.
We see anxiety, depression and PTSD as a rational response from the nervous system to irrational beginnings, and if this is our story, it comes upon us and the teachers we surround ourselves with, to investigate:
What are the non-negotiable ingredients to our development?
What ingredients are the responsibility of Dad?
What responses did we take to paper over these gaps?
What consequences arose out of our underdevelopment and coping?
How can we close the gap for us and future generations?
By taking on this challenge, we not only compassionately see how the body can be taken to dysregulated states that propagate disempowering social relations, but also actively seek to repair the cultural poverty that advances immature states across generations.
If you are a practitioner looking to expand your Somatic skillset, an individual interested in self-directed healing or more broadly, would like to understand the human making that contributes to how each of us subconsciously meets our day, this book will be in service to you.
It is available now (Kindle & paperback) exclusively from Amazon: Australia, United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Japan, Canada,
Thank you for your continued support for this project and, as always, here’s to your healing 💙,
Jas
